There was so much hype going into The LEGO Movie, I was afraid that I would leave disappointed. It garnered countless positive reviews from critics, parents, teenagers, and young adults alike, so I was expecting an excellent movie. Needless to say, this is a must-see of 2014.
I left this movie feeling giddy and full of life. Chris Pratt, along with the rest of this great cast, delivers an entertaining story filled with compassion and substance. You’ll see characters such as Batman, the Green Lantern, Wonder Woman as well as Star Wars references and, even Mr. Ron Burgandy himself, Will Ferrell! This movie is family friendly, and safe for your children to watch. It’s funny enough for you and your kids to laugh! If you haven’t, I highly recommend seeing this ‘special’ film before it leaves the big screen!
Even viewers above the age of eighteen will leave joyously singing three words: “everything is awesome!”
Interesting Note: Fox News covered this movie shortly after its release criticism its “anti-business” agenda. They accused the writers of promoting “Hollywood’s beliefs,” and misconstrued a simple idea. I found this outrageous and inappropriate. The obvious statement to make here is that this is a kid’s movie. Nevertheless, there will always be those who criticize and those who praise.
