Warning

Clear Convictions comes from Puerto Rico and I think It’s awesome that StrikeFirst has signed two bands from other countries. Like missionaries.

Clear Convictions is straight up old-school hardcore. Deep Vocals, straight forward lyrics, catchy, a blast to listen to. Though they Don’t break any new ground, what they do tread upon is good stuff.

The vocals are my favorite, deep and distorted. I like the raspy distorted tones, some may not. It’s different, and not much variation throughout the album but it works well with the music. The guitars have plenty of breakdowns and stick to that old-school style. The guitars could have used more originality because there isn anything you haven’t heard. The drums have double-kick galore and the overall recording of the cd is excellent.

Like I stated earlier, Clear Convictions doesn’t bring anything new, but it is good hxc stuff for fans of the genre.

I've been doing some form of ministry since 2000. For 13 years I was involved in the youth ministry at Cordova Neighborhood Church as everything from youth intern to youth pastor. God has led me and my lovely wife Bethany to Church of the Foothills where I currently reside as the Digital Publishing Coordinator. I'm excited to see where God leads my wife and I.
