The fact that I gave this CD may not seem very special considering pretty much all of my reviews are positive reviews. But let me explain to you why it is for this CD.
Anyone who has read my reviews of any of the Tunnel Rats CD’s (Sev Statik, Raphi, New Breed, Propaghanda, Underground Rise) etc, should know that I love this crew. They are one of my favorites as far as hip hop goes. Needless to say when I saw their was a new TR Cd I was really excited. I took the CD home and my first impression was very disappointing. I Don’t know why but I just remember thinking, wow this is lame.” For some reason the beats didn’t seem up to par the flow seemed weak. I was pretty dissapointed. I even told some people that I was not to impressed with it getting them not to buy it (shame on me I know).
Here is where I get redeemed I have realized that I love this CD. I Don’t know what my problem was I guess I was just giving it a little superficial listen and thinking I was actually paying attention. I remembered the CD only have like 12 songs which was lame to me. But that also proved to me I gave it a superficial listen because it actually has 20 tracks. Ya I wasn’t just lik e 1 or 2 off I was off by 8. Ya im lame. Track 1 4 7 12 and 20 are some of my favorite tracks. The beats are amazing the flows and the hooks are rad. These are the strongest of all the tracks. I think it is just because most of the tracks feature all the Tunnel Rats so you get a lot diversity in flow. Track 4 is different though it has the 2 female EmCee’s of TR and they bring it hard. That track is hot.
Track 11 and 18 to me are funny. I will leave it to you to find out why.
This Cd is much stronger than their first CD which is good for a sophmore release. Overall the beats are much stronger and there is a lot more diversity in the flow. They have 2 new emcees Documentation and Gryphon they add a great new flava to the tracks.
So please check out this CD maybe it will make a believer out of you as well.
