Tracing Back Roots

We Came as Romans is a band that has stayed true to their sound when most bands in this genre change into an unrecognizable mess. Don’t get me wrong I love bands that change their style up but, there is something about a band that holds true to the sound they created. We Came as Romans is the same same post-hardcore band they were in To Plant A Seed yet I never tire of listening to them.

In my chest there’s a hole, I’ve tried to keep it full, but there’s a break in the hull, Depression floods like frozen water’s cold.

This album has a slightly harder edge and is less electronic overall. However, a few songs have the synth hardcore people like me love and adore. My favorite tune instrumentally on this album is “Hope” because of its bouncy and rocking the chorus is. Aaron Gilespe, of Underoath / The Almost, is featured on the third track “I Survive” and totally kills it. Tracking Back Roots will be another album added to my favorites collection.

Change the way you act, change the way you live, Change the way you act, not just the way you think, Change the way you live, live by the words you say.

With great lyrical and vocal dynamics coupled with awesome instrumentals this album is an all around 5 star album. Now go check it out.
