They Want You Silent

All of us know that lately, Facedown has been dropping some of the best hardcore in the scene. Bloodlined Calligraphy’s debut Facedown offering, They Want You Silent is no exception. These guys (and girl) aren’t messing around. They storm through 10 songs in 28 minutes and somebody’s gonna get hurt. I can’t honestly say that I dislike a song on the album but my favorite song is “Hammer to Nail” a track dealing with Christ’s crucifixion. Ally screams “through betrayal and denial you never said a word…tortured by the ones you were dying for.” The guitar parts are crazy and the breakdowns intense. If I were to have any criticisms I would say the drumming. Not the talent necessarily but the mixing. I recently saw these guys live and believe me the dude can play but it doesn’t seem to show in the recording. I recommend this to any fan of hardcore or Facedown!
