The Everglow

I realize this review is coming quite late, but I figure no one else has done it, so why not me! Anyways,

Maybe I am just becoming a sap in my ripe old age of 23, but Mae is beautiful. They make me happy, in my opinion they can do no wrong. Of course this is my general opinion of the band. Their music can be described only by the word cute.

The Everglow is no exception I mean it starts off telling a story that made me happy right away. “Turn the page when you hear this noise.” Amazing simply amazing. The whole CD is a story which you follow through the booklet (the non-audio portion of the album). It weaves you through piano ballads rock driving pop worshipful melodies all the while painting a beautiful vivid picture.

Mae’s songwriting is so deliberate everything seems to feed off everything else perfectly. The Everglow is one of my favorite CD’s of 2005 hands down and will continue to be for years to come.

As I have become accustomed to the lyrics are poppy yet challenging and thought provoking. They make me look at life in a different way they bring me into a worshipful / joyful state of mind without every saying “Jesus” but implying Him over and over again.

This is a great band jump on board and get The Everglow if you are dissapointed YOUR WRONG!!! j/k no but seriously way wrong ;).

I've been doing some form of ministry since 2000. For 13 years I was involved in the youth ministry at Cordova Neighborhood Church as everything from youth intern to youth pastor. God has led me and my lovely wife Bethany to Church of the Foothills where I currently reside as the Digital Publishing Coordinator. I'm excited to see where God leads my wife and I.
