The Beautiful Letdown

This CD definatley lives up to part of its name Beautiful” yes “Letdown” definatley not. I have liked Switchfoot for awhile I will be honest at first I did not enjoy them. When I first heard them I was in my Supertones phase where to be a Christian band you had to blatently say Jesus in every song and Switchfoot does not do so. What I realised later is Switchfoot puts very Godly messages in their music in clever ways then what I realised was they are just much more clever than I and they do sing about Jesus.

Yet another crossover band I was wondering what to expect from this CD. I ended up with0 something that is very Switchfoot but also very re-invented. This CD has much more of an edge to it then their previous three (which I highly recommened). They also remade the song “Dare You to Move” one of my favorites from the Learning to Breathe CD and it is an excellent remake might I say.

Adding another guitarist definatley made new fun avenues for this band to explore on this record. Some may criticize the singer of Switchfoot for having somewhat of a “nasely voice” I say in this time with every vocalist sounding the same it is nice to have someone who has their own style. I feel this album is very diverse in its sound there is a new fun thing to explore on every song these guys rock I definatley suggest the CD “the Beautiful Letdown” trust me you won’t be.
