Squad Five-O

When I first heard this CD I was caught off guard by the weakness” of the music on this CD. The guitars and drums are very muted down and do not hit as hard as I was expecting. But this CD just doesn’t need any of that to impress me. That is the sound they were going for old school Rock N’ Roll and may I say it is Rock N’ Roll at its finest. Im sure those in love with the 80’s glam metal such as stryper whitecross etc may disagree but thats not me. Strper definatley has their place in my heart but I am much more into Squad.

Their last CD “Bombs Over Broadway” was a shock to us all leaving their ska-punk days behind they decided to go onto Rock N’ Roll glory. Many received them well I being one of them and their Self-titled CD shows me that they are still going strong. On this CD it kinda reminds me of Aerosmith meets the Ramones I am sure many would disagree with me but thats ok everyone is wrong at least one time. Chris formely of One 21 does an awesome job on this album with the intro to “I Don’t want to change the world I just want to change your mind” with a 30 second two hand tapping frenzy It’s great fun and then the beat kicks you can’t help but 80’s dance well you can but that would defeat the purpose of such a rockin album. The Rock N’ Roll ballad “Screamin with the Sirens” is the capper of this CD for me reminicent of oldschool AC/DC it definatley puts them up their in the Rock N’ Roll hall of fame of my mind.

I can’t do these guys justice by attempting to review this CD It’s a good buy It’s fun It’s Rock N’ Roll what more do you need?
