Share the Well

Caedmon’s Call has always been a very ministry focused bands. As far as song writing they have become one of my favorites. For those who do not know them they have a very acoustic folk style. Not something that is often reviewed on websites like this, but their wonderful so I figured I would. I remember last time I saw these guys live they did a very heartwarming presentation about Compassion International an organization that lets you sponsor a child. Needless to say seeing the passion and desire in their hearts about this I ended up sponsoring a child. There is a reason I am telling you this and it is not to make you think I am some wonderful person.

Their newest CD is called “Share the Well? when I first read the title I thought they meant “Share thee Well? and just had a misprint in the magazine. But once I heard the song I understood. The idea comes from the idea that we as Christians have “a living well that won’t run dry? so we should “Share the Well? with others.

The one song on here that is reminiscent of normal Caedmon’s Call style is “There’s Only One (Holy One)? a beautiful song.

This CD is collaboration between them and some of the musicians they encountered on their ministry visits to countries such as India, Ecuador, Mexico. Because of that this CD has a much more international sound. A few of my favorite songs are “International Love Song?, “All I Need (I Did Not Catch Her Name)?, “Volcanoland?.

If you do not like well written songs, beautiful harmonies, touching lyrics than you will not like this CD because that is really all it consists of. But if you enjoy it, it can be a very convicting CD, but I think we all need to be convicted when it comes to reaching out to those in need, I know I do.

This CD is very vibrant and very eclectic. There is so much passion on this CD it overflows. This is probably my favorite Caedmon’s Call CD to date. In fact I am going to listen to it right now.

I've been doing some form of ministry since 2000. For 13 years I was involved in the youth ministry at Cordova Neighborhood Church as everything from youth intern to youth pastor. God has led me and my lovely wife Bethany to Church of the Foothills where I currently reside as the Digital Publishing Coordinator. I'm excited to see where God leads my wife and I.
