Seismic – Dogwood

I was waiting for this album to come out for quite a long time. When I first heard their song, “Flowersoondie” on the latest Penalty Box comp I knew I was going to be in for something amazing for their next release. I’d seen then play a couple of the songs live and they blew me away. Seismic was going to save Christian punk rock… and it did. First let me say that my favorite songs were both written by their new guitarist Daniel. Tracks 1 and 3. The first “Seismic” is a high energy punk song remenisent of some old Bad Religion. The third song “Conscience In A Cave” is a slow heavy song with a clean breakdown that gives it a very melancholy feel. This should be their single. Other outstanding tracks are “Selfish Americans” “Absolution” and “Faith”. All very energetic very fun and they display Dogwood’s talent at It’s best. Amazing recording amazing music.

These guys have not lost a step in the past 8 years together. Despite a million member changes they have kept true to their roots spiritually and musically.

This C.D. reminds me what got me into punk oh so long ago.
