I have never been a huge fan of rap music, and Lecrae is no exception. Immediately I found myself disliking this album. Lecrae mixes slow gospel/RandB with hardcore rap styles, but even with that I soon realized it was really generic and boring. It had no real hook to it that made me want to listen to it again. Autotune abounds on this record, which makes it quite annoying and repetitive. Also every song sounds the same. The message that he presents on Rehab is very good, but nothing you can’t hear on your local Christian radio station. In the end, maybe if I liked rap more, I would be into this album, but alas I’m not. So I can only give this album a shaky thumbs down.
2/5 Stars: Tired of the same old same old.
