O Merciful Father

Brutal Fight is exactly what there name is, Brutal. These guys are a hardcore band from Vancouver, Washington.

Facedown seems like its really trying to bring hardcore back instead of the barrage of metalcore bands out there. BF can definitely bring something good to the scene. They are very open with their faith and are very exceptive of others beliefs.

Unlike a lot of hardcore the guitars get repetitive but BF has two guitarist so that adds a lot more technical stuff, instead of the same “strum strum, riff riff, strum strum, riff riff?” if you know what I’m talking about. Though there are some metalcore “eek eek” riffs thrown in, they don’t over due it, and still keep to their hardcore ground.

Overall it’s a good CD, the recording could have been better, the vocals aren’t mixed well, but it is their freshman release so perhaps that is to be expected.

I've been doing some form of ministry since 2000. For 13 years I was involved in the youth ministry at Cordova Neighborhood Church as everything from youth intern to youth pastor. God has led me and my lovely wife Bethany to Church of the Foothills where I currently reside as the Digital Publishing Coordinator. I'm excited to see where God leads my wife and I.
