Not So Tragic Coverup

Chasing Victory is yet another EmoCore, Screamo whatever you want to call it. Following in the footsteps of Thursday, the Used, Underoath etc.

The main problem with this CD is the production. Though better than anything I could do, it is not up to par with a lot of releases these days. Because of the lack of production some of the songs Don’t have as much punch, or as much of a hook as they could. Don’t let that stop you though, what band starts out with amazing recording quality? I can’t think of any. All bands have to have that transitional CD.

Overall this CD is good. The songs are well written and catchy. It took me a little time to get used to the vocalist on this CD, at first I didn’t really like his voice, but I have grown very accustomed to it. One thing that is good each song has its own personality, unlike most CD’s where every song sounds exactly the same each song has its own distinctive hooks, styles, riffs etc.

If you are a fan of the whole Screamo, Emocore scene (as I am) you will enjoy this CD, and it will wet your appetite for future releases by these guys. Oh and by the way I heard they are really good live.
