Fight the Silence

For Today’s sixth studio project “Fight the Silence” is impossibly bolder, and in your face about the issues that plague the current world system. Issues ranging from sex trafficking in America to fatherlessness, they proclaim their message with a passionate roar. This album gets you fired up to fight everything the world has to bring you down, all in the name of Christ. “Pariah” is one of those passionate and bold for Christ songs you expect from For Today.

The phrase that I think should really be exploding from our hearts is from that song, stating “You’ll have to put me in the ground to silence me!” Truly, that’s the fire that should burn in all true followers of Christ.

For Today has been one of my favorite bands since  2010, when Breaker was released. At the time, I wasn’t a Christian, but something this band did and said made me feel different about God. I’m sure I’m not the only one to experience this from a band like For Today. There’s something about well-made music that cuts through all of the walls we put up, and, by the power of God, affects our heart. That is something that For Today continuously does, and with boldness for Christ like theirs, they have a polarizing effect on fans of heavy music.

They have continually progressed as a band when it comes to musical and lyrical content. The once mindless repetitive guitars have transformed into somewhat more intricate and musical . Again in this album they incorporate more of Ryan Leitru’s clean vocals, just to spice up their songs. Lyrically, this album proves to be bolder and more hard hitting than ever, not that they needed improvement. They have totally outdone themselves on this one.

This is an album that should be challenging the heart of anyone who hears it. I highly recommend this album.

I've been through so much in my life and Christ was the only thing that could save me so for over a year I've poured myself into any door God has opened. My passion is music and Christcore is my heart.
