Yellow Second is band out of Denver composed of former members of Five Iron Frenzy and the Rocket Summer. They recorded a couple of independent albums, this being their debut on Floodgate Records. To me the band’s sound could best be described as alternative power-pop. Some of the songs resemble the likes of Weezer(Material”)and The Shins(“Some Other Way”). The album kicks off with “Silhouette ” a strong opener with a sing along chorus. Vocalist Scott Kerr’s lyrics cover many topics including a friend slipping away from God (“Fall Out of Line”) and the relationship between relationships and how they’re affected by sin (“Imaginery Friend” and “Mulberry”). If you’re a fan of catchy choruses then this one’s for you. I don’t just go giving ten’s to any cd that I like so I’m going to give this one a seven and tell you that this one’s worth your money.

I've been doing some form of ministry since 2000. For 13 years I was involved in the youth ministry at Cordova Neighborhood Church as everything from youth intern to youth pastor. God has led me and my lovely wife Bethany to Church of the Foothills where I currently reside as the Digital Publishing Coordinator. I'm excited to see where God leads my wife and I.
