Blindside, the Swedish band that released their first album, R.I.P.” in 96 is now pursuing their passions with the best musical artists around. Linkin Park obviously took a liking to their unique sound judging by the Projekt Revolution tour. Blindside was added to this tour which also hosted Mudvayne and Xzibit. (Which by the way I got the privilege to attend and after the concert I was able to hang out with the members of Blindside down-to-earth awesome guys!)
This band is taking their passion for God to the streets which is an incredible testimony. “A Thought Crushed My Mind” crushed the mold of predictable Christian lyrics and made good music easier to find in the year of 2000. Blindside’s junior album raises the bar in the field of “Christian metal.” “A Thought…” is sure to crush your mind with tracks such as “Where Eye Meets Eye” that explores the idea of seeing God face to face and having your heart broken with the very things that break the heart of the Father. Lyrically this C.D. is great. Musically you can hear within this C.D. how the band is still developing their sound. Track number one “Vow of Silence” must have been a preview to their newest C.D. “Silence” which is a great sequel that gives the band their own sound. Whereas in “A Thought…” the sound was still being developed. It was August 20th 2002 that this world was introduced to a powerful sound yet a… “Silence.”
Both C.D.s are being used to take the good news to the streets! And if their ministry is not sick enough for you check out this “Silence” or let their thoughts crush your mind allowing you to experience a different kind of praise to God. Backed by the extreme vocals of singer Christian Lindskog and screaming guitar of the ape-looking-guitar-player Simon Grenehem with C.D.s like “A Thought Crushed My Mind” and “Silence” this is band is sure to win the ears of many and hopefully souls too!
“A Thought Crushed My Mind” is a great CD. that gives insight to who the band was before their “Silence”. Both C.D.s are great dynamic and enjoyable… expressing so much about daily life purity Christianity and what it is to be a talented band!
