I don't know how many CD's out there claim to be the best now a days. "Hip Hop CD of the year" or "Hard Rock CD of the year" well one thing I have to say is this CD definatley got my vote. Beginning and ending the CD with an inspired spoken word poetry a stroke of beauty and passion. This is the ultimate Hip Hop experience pulling from such talent as: the Tunnel Rats, L.A. Symphony, Mars Ill, Deepspace 5, Ill Harmonics (to name a few).
This CD is packed with banging beats thought provoking rhymes one track that really stands out "Devil's Advocate" feat. Sekou the Misfit is a look into the heart of everyman. Trying to understand the one thing we will never be able to understand, God.
This CD has a combination of 3 of the best beatmakers in Hip Hop today Donavan Luke Henry, Dert (Tunnel rats) and "Jerms" in my opinion they live up to that title.
I could go into detail about how amazing this CD is for pages, picking apart every beat, every rhyme but I will just briefly talk about 2 other tracks that stuck out to me. "One Voice" featuring the whole crew of Tunnel Rats and LA Symphony.
Recipe for true Hip Hop
One tight beat maker
need I say more? Lastly track 18 "Remember this Day" with a length of 6:27 is another masterpiece in my mind. Another track in the double digits 14 emcees all putting their tough patterns over the beats we have grown to love. The track ends with a 2 minute long freestyle beatbox collabo. If you haven't realized yet this CD is dope and if you don't have it, you need it.
