Josh Trank’s (Chronicle) reimagined “Fantastic Four” features a glimpse of the origins of this superhero team. Watch the teaser!
The teaser offers some hope to audiences for the upcoming reboot, giving us our first look at Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Micheal B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell who play Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm, respectively. It definitely seems that we are getting a darker and more serious adaptation of one of Marvel’s longest-running, superhero team. While we didn’t get a clear look at each characters new abilities, we did take this screenshot of the team together:
Excited yet? Well, the synopsis for the film provides a little more insight into what audiences can expect from this reboot:
Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centres on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
The “former friend turned enemy” is, of course, referring to Victor Domashev portrayed by Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes). The trailer didn’t show Victor (or, more importantly, “Dr. Doom”) but we still have plenty of time and more trailers to come. Fantastic Four opens in theaters August 7, 2015.
