The Descent 2 picks up just three days after the events of the original film.
Search parties have been sent out looking for the six girls who have now been missing for three days. Warning: spoilers ahead..
When one of the women makes it out alive with no memory of the previous days trauma, she is sent back in with a search party to find the other girls. It’s not long before the search party begins to turn against each other and die off at the hands of the cave crawlers. The Descent 2 is no where near as solid as the original release but it is a solid sequel for those who loved the tense horror of the original. If there was a 1 to 10 gore meter, it has now been turned up to eleven for this film. Unfortunately, some of the horror movie tropes are present, including the “let’s all split up” scenario and the overly aggressive character. In the end, however, The Descent 2 is still a fun ride. I can forgive the issues when I take it as a package with the first. The Descent 2 is a solid ride for those who want to visit the crawlers of the unmapped Boreham cave system. On it’s own it may not not stand but together it’s a fun albeit frustrating ride at times.
