HBO series Game of Thrones made it to the big screen for the first time, giving audiences a glimpse at what’s to come in season 5 and IMAX screenings of season four’s last two episodes. I had the chance to catch this special event at the Bob Bullock Museum in Austin, TX, housing the state’s largest projection screen.
Audiences were also rewarded with a limited edition poster to commemorate the event.
Fans of the show will get a chance to see “Watchers on the Wall” and “The Children,” season four’s last two episodes. Afterwards, a special preview of season 5. The teaser featured a fugitive Tyrion conversing with Varys, Daenerys’ continued journey to Westeros, and Jon Snow’s battle for the North.
At the end of season four, Daenerys is left with no other option but to imprison her dragons (with Drogon on the loose), Jon Snow partnered with Stannis, Tyrion killed his father and fled from King’s Landing, and Bran finally made it to the Three-Eyed Raven. It seems that season 5 will leave out most of Bran’s journey for the time being and focus, instead, on the rest of our characters. What do you make of this teaser?
Game of Thrones’ fifth season premieres April 12 on HBO.
