Before I Go To Sleep stars Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong. Basically a thriller version of 50 First Dates Christine (Kidman), after a traumatic event in her mid twenties, can’t retain memories. When she falls asleep they erase. Now, in her late forties she struggles to find her place in marriage and in life. While meeting with Dr. Nasch (Strong), Christine begins to record a video diary to aid in memory recall. The more she recalls the more her life begins to unravel and the tension builds. Her once loving husband (Firth) is now acting erratic and even violent, seemingly overwhelmed by the marriage he finds himself in. Clearly someone is hiding something, but who? Christine has to discover for herself who she can trust.
Before I Go To Sleep was a decent movie. Not the best thriller I’ve ever seen but there were some white knuckle thrills and whodunits that I loved. Though an awesome premise for a thriller Before I Go To Sleep felt… predictable. If you like a decent thriller you might want to check this out when it’s in Redbox.
