Stars Are Falling

Bryce: Whats up where are you guys from? and whose in the band?
Jonnie: we’re from all over the place.. we say we’re from sacramento but Ryan (bass) and i (vocals) live in sacramento and dan (drums) and Joe (guitar) live in the Concord area near the bay.
Bryce: thats quite a trek one which we are glad you make
Jonnie: yea.. haha

Bryce: How long have you been in the band?
Jonnie: i’ve been in the band since march of this year 03.
Bryce: Sadly I haven’t been able to see you much sense maybe once but there was a definite improvement in the live show.

Bryce: So has your full length “gun in hand” been released yet?
Jonnie: well our full length is yet to be titled. Gun in hand is the name of one of our songs. We’re planning to release our full length hopefully by September or somewhere around that time. We’re just working on new material for the album.
Bryce: oh ok (showing my ignorance) I just read your site wrong. If that is the cover on the site I thoroughly enjoy it

Bryce: So whats the story behind that particular song title?
Jonnie: i wrote the lyrics to Gun in Hand based on an experience i had with a friend sometime last year. Its almost like a plee of forgiveness. There’s too many details around what happened but there’s lots of emotion that was put into that song. Every song we have has a real depth to lyrics and the music accompanies that mood and feeling
Bryce: Ya I can definitely hear the emotion. For those who don’t know your style can you describe it a little for us?
Jonnie: We don’t claim to be the creators of the style we play but we have elements of melodic hardcore and other stuff like… nursery rhymes and things of that sort. Just kidding of course.. we’re all about the nursery rhymes. We actually just play music the way we like it.. Loud and Heavy but also soft and moody. We try not to be all about a scene or a style but you will hear the hardcore in it. We just like to rock out.
Bryce: an excellent goal to have
Jonnie: yea.. all the guys in the band see it that way
Bryce: good there is so much image going around in the scene its frustrating sometimes.
Jonnie: yea.. i think its cool to have style but don’t live by it. It does get frustrating at times when kids won’t get into your music just because it isnt their “scene” or “style”. i’m into jazz industrial hip-hop and all other sorts of stuff. i just like music in general
Bryce: ya I am all about diversity it is boring to live confined to one style. anywho I could talk about this for hours.

Bryce: So…..Is there a set date for the release of you so far untitled Full Length or just sometime next year?
Jonnie: we’re shooting for the month of September but it should be out sometime this fall. we’d like for everyone to check it out when it drops. We’re planning on letting all our emotions and experiences loose on this album. Its gonna be a good one
Bryce: nice all about that as I like to call it “screamo” not to be confused with EMO
Jonnie: yea.. we’ve definitely got plenty of screaming.. but Ryan and Joe’s vocals are awesome and go really well over the music
Bryce: ya I love the harmonies gets me all tingly inside
Jonnie: haha.. yea.. the guys are all very talented.

Bryce: So are you guys touring this summer?
Jonnie: well we’ve been playing about a billion shows a month all over california but only a few shows in sacramento. It might have seemed as if we’ve been silent or not playing much but we’ve actually been touring since March. As far as this summer goes we’re planning on playing shows mostly in Sacramento and writing the new material for the upcoming album. So if you’re in Sacramento make sure you come out. Oh yea.. just a little plug.. We’re gonna be playing with As I lay Dying The Agony Scene Himsa and With Passion at the Boardwalk on Thursday July 24th. Its gonna be awesome.
Bryce: ya actually I jacked the the banner you had on your site and I was going to put it on mine (I was going to ask you I swear)
Jonnie: haha.. take all you want from our site.. shoot just add the site’s pages to yours!!!! no.. its ok. thanks for doing that.
Bryce: no problem I was going to make one you guys just saved me time
Jonnie: by the way.. your site is looking really good. its the best site for the Sacramento music scene plus all other areas.
Bryce: well thank you sir I appreciate that it has definatley been a blessing to work on. When God gives me motivation to work I can’t stop until it is done.
Jonnie: awesome. its a real help to a lot of the local acts in this area
Bryce: awesome thats the intention.
Bryce: you are gonna love Agony Scene they were very very good live saw em a few days ago. ok enough about nonsense.
Jonnie: ha..

Bryce: So is this CD about struggles and trials in your lives? lyrically I mean.
Jonnie: Lyrically it will be based around our lives experiences goals defeats love and God. pretty much everything we’ve carried for a lot of years will be released through this album. Music is a tool. This album will be full of all of this. The lyrics dont just come from the past but from past present and future.
Jonnie: A lot of the lyrics are poems put to music
Bryce: nice I have never been able to put music to my poems I am glad others can.
Jonnie: Its a great way to have lyrical freedom when you have heavy music goin on. Heavy as in emotionally heavy.. not just trying to be “tough heavy”.
Bryce: ya XXX sXe HARDCORE!
Bryce: heheh sorry couldn’t resist
Jonnie: haha.. its ok.. lets have a moment of silence……………………………
Jonnie: ok.. enough of that.
Bryce: hehe good times

Bryce: ok remember all Stars are Falling rocks you can see them July 24th at the boardwalk with As I Lay Dying and the Agony Scene RAD SHOW
