Slow Coming Day

Bryce: Where do you hail from?

SCD: We “hail” fom Orange County California but three of us are from different states originally. Dave is from Newcastle Indiana I am from Lincoln Nebraska and Brad is from Florida but has lived all over the globe.

Bryce: How do you like being on Tooth and Nail?

SCD: Well it has only been a few weeks now that we have been signed but we are really excited about the opportunities that we have to play music and be involved with a great record company.

Bryce: You guys were signed to Tooth and Nail pretty quickly after forming

SCD: how did all that go down? Basically I sent in our first demo CD which had 5 tracks on it to Tooth and Nail in Nov. of 2001 they liked it came out to see us at Chain Reaction w/Noise Ratchet and then we started talking from there. Yeah it was fairly quick we have only been a band for about a year and a half.

Bryce: How was playing at Cornerstone this year?

SCD: It was awesome!!! Especially Tooth and Nail Day. We can’t wait to go back and play again. I have been going to Cornerstone just as a fan or a while so it was way cool to actually be able to play there for the first time.

Bryce: Are there any shows or tours you are lookng forward to in the future?

SCD: Right now we are jsut playing locally but have plans to maybe start touring in Jan. Probably the show we are most looking forward to is at the Roxy in Hollywood on Oct. 11th with Driving by Braille. We like Hollywood.

Bryce: When does your CD come out on T and N?

SCD: Probably sometime in spring/summer 2003. We should be going in to record the album in Nov/Dec 2002.

Bryce: How many songs have you guys written for the new album?

SCD: We have about 10-12 new songs that we have never recorded before we are going to probably use 2 songs from our independent EP “A Part of Me Died” the songs “Pages yet to be written” and “A Part of Me Died” we will probably record again for the full-length.

Bryce: Describe your sound to anyone who doesn’t know you guys?

SCD: People tell me that we sound a little like Jimmy Eat World’s Clarity album and then some say a little like Brandtson. But I would just say that we are an indie rock band.

Bryce: Where are you recording?

SCD: We have plans to record with producer Ed Rose at Red House Studios in Eudora Kansas. Ed has worked with great bands like the Get Up Kids the Appleseed Cast Brandtson Casket Lottery the Beautiful Mistake and many more. He does most of the Deep Elm bands.

Bryce: How can kids get involved in representing you guys?

SCD: Well right now just come out to our shows if you live in California and what everyone can do is go buy our EP called “A Part of Me Died” from the Militia Group at www.themilitiagroup.com/misccd.html its only $6.00 there.

Bryce: Is there anything you would like to say to the kids reading this? SCD: Don’t give up on your dreams follow them out to there completion no matter how hard to seems.
