CCM:How long has BBABH been together?
Hugh: We have been a band since November 2002 but we went through a lot of changes and got a solid line up and started doing shows around June 2003.
CCM:I know BBABH’s name is derived from a Scripture in Psalms. Is there a specific reason that BBABH chose that verse did it fit the moment or speak to you somehow?
(Psalm 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.)
Hugh: Well actually the band name came from life experience I was saved when I was 15 and I love God but I didn’t live for God. I had more love for girls than God .So I got dumped after a one year relationship 9 I was 19 at the time)and met some awesome Christian kids I started hanging out with them way more and they helped me to get closer to God and that’s how God became my priority . So by getting my heart broken I got a lot closer to God and it’s after that that I found the Bible verse and it totally applied to me. So that’s where the band name came from.
CCM:How long has BBABH been together before yall were signed with Blood and Ink?
Hugh: We did our first show in September of 2003 recorded a demo in January 2004 that we sent out to Jamie and he signed us at cornerstone festival so we had been together for a bit but only doing shows for less than a year. Jamie is a sweet dude for giving us that chance.
CCM:I read on your myspace that some big labels are checking ya’ll out. Can you say any more details about that?
Hugh: Uuuummmmm I?m not sure if I should talk about it but we just recorded a demo for some labels to hear so hopefully more will be interested in us. How sad is it that you learn stuff from us through myspace and not our website…. our website is always down *sigh*
CCM:What would say is the overall message that BBABH would like listeners to know.
Not just in lyrics but the whole band project. What is BBABH message?
Hugh: Love God with all your heart and he will bring you endless blessings and never give up no matter what people say about you or what you believe in
CCM:What do you believe to be the best method for a Christian band to reach the lost?
Hugh: Not shove stuff in peoples faces be nice about it.
CCM:Would you call BBABH a ministry band?
Hugh: Yes sometimes I just don’t like that people associate a ministry band with perfection I see too many people thinking that if you are a ministry band you can’t make mistakes and that you are sinless.
CCM: When you think of God’s love what comes to mind?
Hugh: Christ on the cross bleeding for me.
CCM:What do you hope is in store for the future for BBABH?
Hugh:People finding God though us touring signing to a bigger label making friends and having fun
CCM:Well thanks again again shout-outs or tid-bits?
Hugh:Just a Huge thanks to everyone who supports us and had been praying for us.
