Hailing from Hollister CA hardcore metal band ALLORNOTHING is on a war path. With brutal breakdowns to melodic riffs these guys know how to put on a show. You will fall in love with this band when you see them. They wear their hearts on their sleeve. For fans of August Burns Red Unearth and The Devil Wears Prada.

Bryce: So why don’t we start with some super basic questions. Name Band and position in band?
Laz: for sures my name is Lazarus Rios of the band ALLORNOTHING and i do vocals and guitar

Bryce: How long has ALLORNOTHING been around?

Laz: since march of 2007

If this were the last interview that people reading this would ever read what would you want them to know?

You only live once. Live your life like today is the only day you have to live. Remember God gave you this life and everyday to worship Him through all that you do.

Bryce: I noticed on your myspace that you are pushing a new ministry/non-profit the Whosoever’s. Can you tell us a little bit about that? Who are the founders? What is the purpose? Why did you choose to align yourself with what they are doing?

Laz: Yeah definitely this awesome movement is to spread the love of Christ and is pretty much a stepping stone for people who don’t know who God is. The testimonies of Sonny Sandoval Brian “HEAD” Welch and Ryan Ries are so awesome. They’ve been to the top and have had all that the world has to offer but quickly found that it wasn’t worth it and that all they needed was God. we started working with them last august because we will help out anyone who is willing to stand up and proclaim the name of Christ. We recently have been helping them with raising awareness for chi cheng of the Deftones. More info is available below

Bryce: Okay awesome so if you’re reading this make sure to check those links out!

Bryce: Have you had any particularly memorable ministry opportunities since joining with the Whosoever’s?

Laz: being able to pray with kids and build relationships with them and show them that the love of God exists.

Bryce: That is what it’s about.

Bryce: Your last CD “A City Built on it’s Dead” was released July 2009 it’s now July 2010 what are your future release plans?

Laz: Yeah it’s been a year since that release we’ve been pushing forward and have had some member changes since that cd was released. We just got home 2 weeks ago from a month long tour and we are now getting back into writing mode we are looking to have a full length within the next 6 months God willing

Bryce: Nice now… assuming you are the lyricist. What kind of situations have impacted you lately that will push the direction of this new album? if you know.

Laz: Well the last album was a different vocalist so this album will be my first push to having what goes on in my mind daily into the music we put out. Lately it’s been remembering where God has brought me and where he took me out of. It’s about remembering all those nights when i felt like I could do life on my own and the day I was broken down and finally told God “this is it. There’s no turning back now. I’m giving you my everything.” It’s just about getting back to the roots of knowing God and learning to walk the walk that we talk.

Bryce: That’s great and kind of leads into my next question.

Bryce: I have found that within the music scene there are specific genres that are much more forward about their faith hardcore being one of them. Why do you think that is? Or have you even noticed this?

Laz: it’s funny you ask that last night i had an hour long convo with my buddy justin who fronts the band the great commission about this topic. So many people judge each other for how “flashy” they are about their faith but when it comes down to it. Every person in this world and every band is different. I have seen many bands look down on another band because of this but for me I find the best thing to do is love one another. We should all be in unity and pushing forward for the one reason of spreading the gospel not fighting with each other.

Bryce: I agree I mean personally in my band I rarely say it up front. I’m generally just nervous performing anyways but I do try to live it in my interactions with people and use that to open up conversations. God has created some to be evangelists and some to be teachers and some to be compassionate I guess we all just work together and fit together like a puzzle and hopefully when that puzzle is complete God’s grace shines through.

Laz: Yeah and see there’s nothing wrong with that you are completely different from me I personally make it a point to share what God has done in my life every show we do whether I’m not “feeling” it or not. Someone out there needs to hear it regardless of how I feel and off stage actions speak louder than words. I don’t think any less of you because you don’t say something about God on stage there’s no need for that you know.

Bryce: Agreed.

Bryce: Let’s have a top 5 list of bands people should check out. Any genre?

Laz: Awesome! i always love this question haha

Laz: definitely it’s like God why me? he’s only said because of my faith and commitment to him.

Bryce: One of my best friends said to me once “God doesn’t call the equipped He equips the called.” I always found comfort in that

Laz: Wow thats a trip. makes so much sense.
