(Brian) What is your name and what do you play in Ravenhill?

(Joshua) Joshua Clifton and I play guitar and sing.

(Brian) How did you guys become a band? How long has Ravenhill been around?

(Joshua) Ravenhill is something I’ve wanted to do for the last 10 years. I grew up in a home full of different kinds of music--music from the likes of The Beatles,CCR, Mariachi, Elvis, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles & many more. I always thought it would be cool to do something modern with a little more soul or passion. So I and a group of my close friends started Ravenhill. Having had an eclectic background of punk rock, gospel, Jazz, Blues,  grunge, indie, hard-core, soul, & Classic rock, we are gonna take a stab at it. We are having a blast just being friends that play music with each other, so hopefully that good time overflows into the crowd. We started two years ago and never looked back.

(Brian) Who is in the band and what do they play?

(Joshua) Josh Clifton-Lead Vocals & Guitar

(Brian) How would you describe Ravenhill’s music?

(Joshua) As far as genre I would say Rock Meets Soul.  Take a band like the Foo Fighters & throw some Ray Charles in there...that may be an easy way to picture the sound.

(Brian) Who are some people or bands that inspire you guys musically and spiritually?

(Joshua) Well all of us look up to our parents as spiritual leaders. We also look up to some evangelists that have gone on to be with the Lord like Tozer, Wilkerson, Wigglesworth, Lewis, etc....and I’m sure it is obvious we are fans of Leonard Ravenhill.  As far as musically we are inspired by anyone who isn’t ashamed of who there are and what they believe.

(Brian) I already know this, but some of our readers may not. So, where can people pick up your first EP, Ladies and Gentlemen I Present to You...

(Brian) Why did you guys decide to giveaway Ladies and Gentlemen I Present to You... for free?

(Joshua) We feel that it's best when building your name that money isn’t a priority. Sure we all would love to do this for a living, but first we thought we would offer Ladies & Gentlemen I Present To You... as a gift. We really hope you enjoy it.

(Brian) I heard that you guys are coming out with a new EP soon called Lions, is that right?

(Joshua) Yes, sir. 

(Brian) Do you guys have an exact release date for that?

(Joshua) We are having a CD release show on May 20th in Herrin, Illinois at the HITTS Café.

(Brian) Where will the EP be available?

(Joshua) It will be on iTunes on May 20th also.

 (Brian) So will there be any sound changes from Ladies and Gentlemen I Present to You... to Lions, or will it stay pretty much the same?

(Joshua)  It is something a little more edgy than Ladies & Gentlemen I Present To You.... I have been listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin, The Black Keys & the Raconteurs, so you can expect something a little more raw, but it’s honest. We didn’t track this album; we recorded live with all the vocals, guitars, drums & bass all done at the same time. We recorded it all in one day. We wanted to capture the raw energy we have live.

(Brian) How long (trackswise) is Lions going to be?

(Joshua) It is a six-track EP.

(Brian) Who produced Lions?

(Joshua) Kevin Gong produced us at The Ruckus Romm in Paducah, KY

(Brian) What song is your personal favorite on this album?

(Joshua) Right now it would have to be the second track, called "Youngblood."

 (Brian) Is there anything that we can be praying for you guys about?

(Joshua) Yes, God has already blessed us so much, and we would have you pray that we are able to grow as men of God and are able to make the right choices when it comes to our everyday life as well as decisions that come with being in a band.
