That answer is twofold.
This has been an issue since I first got into the scene in 1998. What defines a Christian band? Is it a fully ministry focused band? Is it Christians in a band? Is it a band with a Christian lead singer/lyricist? Well, the answer to your question is yes. We look for all those things when determining whether or not an artist is listed, reviewed, or interviewed on our site.
Our general routine in finding out about a band is checking their social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Reverbnation) website, blogs, etc. to see if (1) there is any faith-based content, and (2) if there is inappropriate content. We attempt to discern whether content is inapporpriate by whether it is overtly sexual, explicit, violent, etc. However, we do understand that sometimes topics such as these can be discussed with redemptive intentions so we try to not to jump to conclusions. We are not perfect, and sometimes a redemptive meaning may be lost on us we ask for your grace if we do not include your bands music on our site. Please feel free to contact us if this were to happen.
We try to be thorough, but sometimes things slip past us. If you ever notice anything, please help by contacting us through our contact page.
