Robbing God
Would you believe me if I said that you can rob God? Check out Mal 3:8 & 9: [8] Begin by being honest. Do honest people rob God? But you rob me day after day. "You ask, 'How have we robbed you?' "The tithe and the offering--that's how! [9] And now you're under a curse--the whole lot of you--because you're robbing me." (MSG) Notice that the Bible says "rob", not "steal". Stealing is an act where you take something of another person while he is not looking. Robbing someone is where you take something forcefully and violently.

Word of our Testimony
I felt it appropriate to share with you guys my testimony of how God changed my life. I was raised in a typical middle class home, did fairly well in school and moved on to university. I was member of a church, when to Sunday school all my life and knew about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and all that religious stuff. But I never knew God personally. As a student I went through the typical motions ? drank myself into oblivion on weekends, smoked, being sexually immoral (I thank the Lord I never had sex with my girlfriend, but only because I was too scared she would fall pregnant) and did ever

I went to hell over $10.00
Not very long ago, there was a young man who got drunk one night during a wild party and was involved in a car accident on his way home. He ran a red light and smashed into the side of another car crossing the intersection. The young man was fine, except for a couple of bruises, but all the passengers in the other were killed except for the father, who was driving. The young man could hardly sleep for the two weeks before the trial, especially after he found out that the father is a very influential judge. He was filled with remorse, and decided to write a letter to the father, telling him

Size of a Crisis
Last night a guy gave a testimony in church of how God carried him through the difficult times and some of the things he said really struck me. A while back his father became very ill with malaria, and his father was declared clinically dead for 2 days, with only machines keeping him alive. He started praying for his dad and his dad got completely healed. He said something really cool: The size of any crisis or problem is proportional to the distance between your knees and the ground. God wants us to trust in Him, that?s a lesson I had to learn, and that I?m still learning every day

Drawing the line
One topic that has probably been dealt with over a billion times before is the topic of premarital sex. Oddly enough it is also the topic that Christians are the most confused about: we all know it is wrong, but can we prove it from the Word? A friend once told me that he asked his pastor to prove from Scripture that premarital sex is wrong, but he could not. That freaked me out, as in this devotional I will prove from Scripture that not only is premarital sex wrong, but also every form of premarital sexual foreplay. I will wait a couple of minutes for you to read the entire Ezekiel 23.

Where do I fit in?
How many times have you talked to people: nice, ordinary, just plain pleasant people and when you got to know them better, you found out that they are not Christians, but atheists or followers of some other religion? Have you then thought, ?Is it really necessary to testify about Jesus? They seem to live right, give to the poor and are generally good people, better than most ?Christians? I know?? I will tell you that these thoughts have crossed my mind, and I realized that these thoughts are one of the most dangerous weapons Satan uses to confuse Christians today. One thing you will hav

Bagels and Forgiveness
Okay, this being my first devotional for christcore.net and all, I wanted to make it really good, and impressive, so I tried coming up with all these cool analogies and deep thought, that were inspiration and at the same time, comical. Then I realized I was lame and that G-d is the one speaking and I am just going to be rambling on if I try to do this all on my own. So here is my story that ties into what G-d, not I, have to say: Today, for lunch I went to this bagel caf?? by my church, First Covenant Church of Sacramento (PLUG!), and I ordered a pizza bagel. In the description of the b

A Blunt Wakeup Call
Hey everyone, I felt like I needed to share something with everyone, because it's been bottled up in me this past week and I need to let it out. This past year, I've been through a lot, drinking, girls, depression, no job, kicked out of houses, etc etc.. which has led to a lot of bitterness to God, and the whole thing. I've been seeking something this past year, and I never got it. recently I've been going to a bible study my friend put on, and it's really opening my eyes. we just read James, and let me tell you, if you havent read this short little book in the new t

Blasphemy or Christianity
I once heard that real blasphemy is not necessarily using the name of the Lord in vain, but actually calling yourself a Christian (Christ-like or to-be-like-Christ) and to not actually live like Christ did, or wants us to. What is Jesus all about? In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus sums it up: To love the Lord with your whole being (heart, soul and mind) and to love others as you love yourself. Sure, we?ve heard this passage about a billion times before, but do we understand it? When was the last time a green-haired punk tattooed from head to toe marched into your church congregation sat in the

If Sin is Fun, Why Stay Clean?
Whats up all, it has been awhile since the last devotion was published and I apologize for that. Before I start this off, I just ask that you all could be praying for me, just that I could be strengthened in my devotion to Christ. I just need to get back on top of reading my bible and praying daily, I slack. So if you ever remember to do so please do. This idea is very dear to me right now, mainly because it is a struggle as well. As I have said I haven't been doing my devotions as much, and strangley enough my walk is very inconsistent. Hmmm, interesting... Anyways sometimes it jus
