Feb 7th | Problem Solving
If you have ever been faced with a personal problem in your life say ?aye!? if everyone who read this didn?t say ?aye!? than say it, because I am pretty sure you have. How did you deal with that problem? Did you ignore it? If it was with a person did you stop talking to them, tell them off, talk to everyone but that person about the problem or did you confront the issue head on?
I myself and a very non confrontational person, I don?t like having to deal with hard issues. Sometimes it just seems easier to ignore the issue, tell myself I am being dumb and move on. There is a huge problem [ READ MORE | Posted on: February 7th, 2010 PST | By: Bryce Cooley]
| | Feb 2nd | Don't be Plastic
I?m fake, I?ve been fake and im fed up. For the past couple months I have been so busy doing God?s work that I left my relationship with Him on the back burner. Ironic eh? I think so. Anytime a person asks me ?How are you?? or ?How are you and God doing?? I always replied ?im great? or ?we are doing good? or another long list of fake manufactured answered. Sound familiar? It wasn?t until recently that I realized what I was doing to myself and others. Essentially, I was lying to everyone, and by doing so I was cutting off the healing process. Many of these people could have been just the rem[ READ MORE | Posted on: February 2nd, 2010 PST | By: Bryce Cooley]
| | Jan 25th | Healing - Part 1
I noticed that a lot of the prayer requests on this site are requests for healing and I find it great that people still believe that Jesus can heal. I thought I would share some of the (limited) knowledge I have about healing in faith. I by no means think I know everything, and I believe that each situation should be dealt with individually, but I am convinced that there are certain rules that apply to most, if not all situations. Some of the things I write will sound very weird, but hey, being a Christian is "weird" so here goes.
I think two things I have to deal with first a[ READ MORE | Posted on: January 25th, 2010 PST | By: Riaan Du Plessis]
| | Jan 17th | In The Face Of Grace
"We certainly believe that it is through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ that we are saved..."
- Acts 15:11 (ISV)
"By his grace they are justified freely through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God offered as a place where atonement by Christ's blood could occur through faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because he had waited patiently to deal with sins committed in the past." - Romans 3:24-25
A lot of people believe that because God is good, He will overlook their sins when they die. "Hey, He will understand, I had it[ READ MORE | Posted on: January 17th, 2010 PST | By: Riaan Du Plessis]
| | Jan 11th | I do not know you... - Jesus
"I am so lucky that I went to church yesterday!" I thought to myself.
Then I saw some people being dragged away from the gate by a horde of malformed creatures. "Jesus... Jesus!! But we even cast out demons in Your Name!" they screamed. "Get away from Me, for I do not know you!" said a voice from the cloud above. Suddenly their screams turned to shrieks as they disappeared into the abyss.
As I got closer to the front, I was more and more convicted about who I really was. I was feeling increasingly uneasy. My arms and legs started to tremble. Was I actua[ READ MORE | Posted on: January 11th, 2010 PST | By: Riaan Du Plessis]
| | Jan 5th | Am I Hardcore?
That is the question. Or should it be, "What is hardcore?" Personally I can't tell you what it originally meant or where it comes from. To me being hardcore is more than making music hard to blow your face off, or looking and acting so bad that your own mother is afraid of you. To me being hardcore is to have your heart fixed on something more solid and steady than yourself, knowing that you can not survive alone.
Let's look at Matt 16:15-18: He said to them, "But who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God![ READ MORE | Posted on: January 5th, 2010 PST | By: Riaan Du Plessis]
| | Nov 18th | You are Beautiful
Ok this may be weird because I'm a guy and what do I know. This could end up being a very short devotional or long, lets see where the spirit leads. So the following is for all the young girls, ladies, women.
It breaks my heart to see beautiful women out there thinking they are not beautiful because of what our society portrays as beauty. No matter what size or shape, you are beautiful. God cannot take his eyes off you. He is overjoyed at your smile, that is right, you have the ability to bring joy to God, how amazing is that. The cool thing about that is you don't need to do an[ READ MORE | Posted on: November 18th, 2009 PST | By: Bryce Cooley]
| | Oct 12th | Christian Dissatisfaction
On my way to church yesterday morning I started thinking about my faith status & how I sometimes feel so dissatisfied. I thought about all those times I hear of somebody being healed of some sickness, but it is as if the level of complete awe and amazement is just not there. It?s like I?ve grown accustomed to saying "Wow, praise the Lord!" without actually feeling the excitement in my heart. I?ve also grown tired of always having to tell second-hand events of how God is working. I want to tell people first-hand about an experience with the power of my Father.
Then God aske[ READ MORE | Posted on: October 12th, 2009 PST | By: Riaan Du Plessis]
| | Sep 5th | TESTIFY!
"And they [the believers on earth] overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." (Rev 12:11)
Do you personally want to take part in the defeat of Satan on earth? If you do, I have some good news; otherwise you might as well close this window now.
In the week that past I realized something that has never been as clear to me as it is now (well I've never been the coldest beer in the six-pack; he he he). The Lord has shown me that we as Christians need to start talking about what we belie[ READ MORE | Posted on: September 5th, 2009 PST | By: Riaan Du Plessis]
| | Aug 29th | Robbing God
Would you believe me if I said that you can rob God? Check out Mal 3:8 & 9:
[8] Begin by being honest. Do honest people rob God? But you rob me day after day. "You ask, 'How have we robbed you?' "The tithe and the offering--that's how! [9] And now you're under a curse--the whole lot of you--because you're robbing me." (MSG)
Notice that the Bible says "rob", not "steal". Stealing is an act where you take something of another person while he is not looking. Robbing someone is where you take something forcefully and violently. [ READ MORE | Posted on: August 29th, 2009 PST | By: Riaan Du Plessis]
