Jan 28th | When God Calls Us To Wait
“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning.”
Psalm 130:5-6
“Waiting on the Lord” is a commonly used phrase within the Christian community, but I am finding that it is a phrase many of us know and use but do not really know how to actually do. The truth is, we are human; we are of a fallen nature. We live a life that fights the daily battle between flesh and soul. Waiting on the Lord while livi[ READ MORE | Posted on: January 28th, 2012 PST | By: Brenda Abel]

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world,
and not according to Christ.”
Colossians 2:6-8
We live in a world that is constantly trying to influence the way we think, act and feel. At times, it can be the most challenging thing to look at what those [ READ MORE | Posted on: November 13th, 2011 PST | By: Brenda Abel]

“And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He Said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.” - Exodus 3:14 (NKJV)
So much I find today in our society that we don't want to just believe. We have to have some sort of proof to be able to prove our case to the masses. But what God was telling Moses was that all you need to know is that I AM WHO I AM. As curious humans we don't like to be told something just is. We like to know the why's and how's. I'll be the first to say that I'm just like this. I need [ READ MORE | Posted on: October 9th, 2011 PST | By: Brian Morrissette]
| | Aug 28th | Who needs Jesus?
This message does not come from a place of piety or self-righteousness but is delivered to you with a heavy heart. Over the years in ministry I have become acutely aware of the drift away from a transforming relationship with Christ and reverence for God's word. I desire that we as believers would get on our knees, recognize our errors, repent, elevate Scripture to its rightful place, and allow the transforming work of the Holy Spirit to overtake us again.

My wife and I have a new puppy. Her name is Abby, short for Abacus. Abby is a Wirehaired Terrier Schnauzer mix. She is small but not annoying, full of energy but likes to snuggle, and very loving. I try to take her on two or three short walks around our complex a day. She loves being outdoors and is constantly running to smell every bush. Unfortunately, she is running in place because Abby weighs 12 pounds and I weigh in at around 220, making it difficult for her to make any headway. Abby will often bolt away from me and get yanked back when her lea[ READ MORE | Posted on: August 21st, 2011 PST | By: Bryce Cooley]

15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
Revelation 3:15-17
I think many of us can appreciate this statement. Who likes a lukewarm soda or, dare I say it, beer. How many of us enjoy listening to noncommital love songs, "I lo[ READ MORE | Posted on: August 19th, 2011 PST | By: Bryce Cooley]
| | Aug 14th | Our Identity
This is a repost from a website called GotQuestions.org. The question was asked "How should we live our lives in light of our identity in Christ?" I was very encouraged and challenged by the answer. When I look over this Biblical answer of the response we are to have to the Spirit of Christ in us, I realize how far I have to go, but I am thankful that I am on the path. I hope that you can read this and be encouraged as I was.

Colossians 2:16-17
"17 For these rules were only shadows of the real thing, Christ himself."
What we see isn't all there is. This is something that has been on my heart a lot lately. I'm not a guy that harps on the media all the time. I love music, tv and movies as much as the next person, but lately I've been frustrated. There is so much stuff being "sold" to us as reality on a day-to-day basis, and it's so far off that they are but a shadow of the reality they attempt to profess.

| | Aug 9th | Wake Up, Today Awaits You
There’s a line in this book I’ve been reading called Cold Tangerines by Shauna Niequist that has changed my life. She concludes her chapter “On Waiting” by saying this profound phrase:
“You are more than dust and bones.
You are spirit and power and image of God.
And you have been given Today.”
That last sentence really hit home for me, and more recently it has been stirring within my heart. We have been given Today. It’s fascinating to think about how waking up to a new day, every day, is s[ READ MORE | Posted on: August 9th, 2011 PST | By: Brenda Abel]

Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but Nobody wants to Die
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." Luke 9: 23-24
What does it mean to follow Christ? Jesus laid it all out on the table for everyone to see in the Gospel of Luke, among other books in the Bible. Jesus always spoke very specifically when addressing the crowds and the apostles. On this specific occasion, Jesus was teaching his apostles what it meant to follow Him.
