Phillip’s Top Ten Albums of 2013

1. Conviction – The Crimson Armada

When I was looking for something Christian, but also something really heavy (coming down off a Suicide Silence high) I found this and fell in love.

2. Flyleaf – Flyleaf

I’ve listened to Flyleaf for years, and I never thought they were Christian until I took a closer listen. After that, this album was fundamental in my early growth in Christ.

3. Define the Great Line – Underoath
4. Lost in the Sound of Separation – Underoath

These are my two favorite Underoath albums. After I was saved I decided to listen to their whole discography and I loved it all.

5. We Will Overcome – Close Your Eyes

I’ve listened to hardcore punk before but, when I heard “Song for the Broken” by Close Your Eyes, it quickly became my favorite thing to jam out to.

6. Children of Fire – Oh, Sleeper

A friend of mine showed me Oh, Sleeper last year, and I fell in love with this new style of metal. I’ve spent endless hours listening to this album.

7. The Light Meets the Dark – Tenth Avenue North

I decided to check Tenth Avenue North out before I went to their show, this was the only album around. Little did I know, Mr. Metalhead (me) would love and connect to every word this band said.

8. Rehab –Lecrae

I used to listen to Eminem religiously, but since I  decided to drop religion and meet Jesus, I needed to check out some Christian rap. Lecrae is now my favorite rapper.

9. The Lost, The Sick, The Sacred – Inhale Exhale

What can I say? In my pre-Christian life I was the definition of emo, this album really hit home for me.

10. Anthem Song- Aaron Gillespie

Being a huge fan of Underoath, and a worshiper, I was bound to find this album. This album has some of my favorite worship songs ever.

My top ten list is not in a particular order, these were just my favorite albums in 2013. I’d love to hear yours.
