Jesus is the only way to eternal life
Mathew 7: 13-14 NLT- “13You can enter Gods kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way.14But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.”*
God wants everyone to enter his kingdom but only few will. Many people like to slack, and take the easy way, I know that I do all the time, but God says “The highway to hell is broad and its gate is wide for those who choose the easy way.” Not to say that choosing the “Christian life? is hard, but to stay in a relationship with God you need to keep an ongoing relationship with him. It is easy to imagine how God feels when we pay no attention to him by putting ourselves in that position. If you think of a person that you deeply care for them imagine them blowing you off, and not giving you the time of day, it hurts. To have a relationship means to devote time, and give up certain desires to be with someone. That is exactly what God wants us to do in our relationship with him. It is much easier said than done, I know for a fact, but here are a few things you can do to help maintain a growing relationship with God. Talk
to God on a regular basis
tell him how you feel, share what you would like to see happen, share what you have been struggling with???.
Mathew 6:6-8 NLT- “6When you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your father secretly. Then your father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.7When you pray don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered only by repeating their words again and again.8Dont be like them because your father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!?* – You can’t annoy God; he is there 24/7 to listen.
Investigate Gods word and make it practical
The bible seems to be filled with a bunch of meaningless stories but they all apply somewhere, think deep. The lessons make sense when you run into them down the road.
Deuteronomy 17:20 “20This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. This will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.”*
Now that passage, in a way, made no sense when not thought of in the right context. Those were just some of the example of benefits to reading your bible. If they were able to list that many, then there has to be many more.
Express your thoughts
Don’t keep them locked inside! Tell someone, write down, talk to a leader or pastor. God has great plans, and you could be the one to carry them out!
