My Beloved

I am moved by classic Christian literature.  The verbage some of the "saints of old" use to describe God invokes in me a sense of majesty.  While going through a difficult time in my life, I chose to write a few poems, this being one of them, as a way to deal with the emotions I felt.  May this minister to you as it did to me.  I would encourage you also to write your heart to God in whatever form you choose.

A God so high as Thee
Need not concern Himself with one as low as me
In the mire I sit, potsherd in hand
Til thine spirit grabs me and bids me to stand

Beloved Father, I ask thee to stay
Be not far, do not go away
"Where have I gone and where can you stay,
away from My love, my mercy and grace?"

So in your arms I sit and gently you say
Cling tight to me, my beloved babe
So cling I will, to my dying breath
That I may taste and see your infinite depth

drink and be refreshed
eat and be filled
seek and find
come and see, all you blind

I've been doing some form of ministry since 2000. For 13 years I was involved in the youth ministry at Cordova Neighborhood Church as everything from youth intern to youth pastor. God has led me and my lovely wife Bethany to Church of the Foothills where I currently reside as the Digital Publishing Coordinator. I'm excited to see where God leads my wife and I.
