25"So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life–whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn't life consist of more than food and clothing? 26Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. 27Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not.
28"And why worry about your clothes? Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, 29yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? You have so little faith!
31"So don't worry about having enough food or drink or clothing. 32Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, 33and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
34"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. -Matthew 6.25-34
God will always provide what we need. I have learned that first hand, time and time again. I am never in want when I need something.
I am at a conference presently. The conference is at a church about an hour from where I live. To drive up here everyday and back down would cost about 100 dollars. If we were to stay in a hotel, it would cost about 100 dollars to stay, not including gas or food. The expense would be laid heavily on a friend of mine and me… only two of us! We each had about fifty dollars. That would barely cover the cost. We knew we were called to be at the conference and so we went with our fifty bucks each.
But God is so amazing!
We drove up here yesterday with another friend's mom. We didn't have to pay gas! Last night, we roomed with some older people my friend's mom knew. We didn't have to pay for the room.
Tonight we are sleeping in a room some other friends of my friend's mom paid for. They had been planning to stay until tomorrow, but they need to leave after the conference. They offered the room to us, and so we get to spend another night in a hotel room for free. Most of my meals have been paid for. I have even had some Starbucks bought for me! Currently, I have about forty some dollars left out of the fifty some dollars I had!
God can and will provide all we need, always. We don't need to worry about what's going to happen, we need to have faith that our lives are in God's hands.
I know God called me to be here at the conference because of the amazing words I have received and the things I have seen! I didn't need to worry, though I did at the beginning, about how I was going to pay for everything. God provided everything I needed. And He will surely provide you with what you need as well!
