Children

If you ever need a reminder of God's goodness, if you ever are in a time where you need hope for the future, if you want to remember what it was like to not be jaded by the world, just look into the faces of a young children. Their bursts of laughter, giggles, even their cries can bring you back. Jesus Himself said, "Let the little children come unto me." He understood their beauty, their worth, their faith–so innocent, so pure a blank canvas for the Lord to do mighty works through.

I recall a story by Ravi Zacharius about crossing the border from Jordan to Israel, a very dangerous affair. In the middle of this tense situation his young daughter, staring at one of the soldiers, said, "Do you have any bubble gum?" Everyone laughed, and what should have been a four-hour process was completed in 25 minutes because this young girl reminded the soldier of his daughter. That joy was enough.

Their is beauty in the innocence of children.

Lord… thank you for children.  May we learn from them and keep them safe.

I've been doing some form of ministry since 2000. For 13 years I was involved in the youth ministry at Cordova Neighborhood Church as everything from youth intern to youth pastor. God has led me and my lovely wife Bethany to Church of the Foothills where I currently reside as the Digital Publishing Coordinator. I'm excited to see where God leads my wife and I.
