Over the years smartphones have replaced many physical items that make our lives easier. Things like dictionaries, calculators, calendars, clocks, and notepads have become nonessential because they can all be easily accessed on your iPhone. While those are some of the stock features of all smartphones, there are many other apps out there that could help simplify your life. Here’s a list of a few apps on the iPhone App Store that I frequently use:
This is an app for people who have way too many passwords to remember. Social media sites, online payment sites, entertainment sites, shopping sites: all of these require login information. For the most part, we all use the same information for most sites, but what about that one different password for that one site? It would be hard to remember that info, and that’s where 1Password comes in. This app allows you to store various bits of sensitive data in a vault that is secured by, you guessed it, one password. You can store login information, social security data, drivers licenses, and much more. Of course this is all safely stored away by a Master Passcode. Don’t ever forget that pesky password again!
Are you ever scrolling through your social feeds, and find an article you would love to read, but are simply too busy at the moment to do so? Well, Pocket helps to solve that problem. Some apps such as Twitter, Tweetbot, Paper for Facebook, and Tumblr offer users a way to configure your Pocket account in the settings of the app. After you configure your account you will be able to save articles with the click of a button. Within the Pocket app users will be able to archive articles, save them in a favorites list, or simply delete them once finished. The great thing about using Pocket though is how your saved articles are visually presented. You aren’t bothered with ads, and you’ll have an easy-to-read font when viewing articles.
Sometimes tracking a package can be a bothersome task. You have to search through your email for that confirmation number, and follow the link to locate your package’s movements. With this app all you have to do is paste the tracking number, and your worries are over. The app will intuitively send you push notifications as your package hits its various stops, and will also let you know the day that it is out for delivery.
iStudiez Pro allows you to input all your important data from school, and even monitor your grades. As a college student I love using this app because it helps me to remember what classes are next, and what assignments I have due. Users can also input classroom numbers, professor information, personal schedules, and upcoming projects. If your instructor assigns you a syllabus, with a breakdown of how grades work in the course, you can also assign weight categories to your assignments. This is the perfect app for students!
These are only a handful of apps that make my life easier. I’m sure there are many that you enjoy using, so share them in the comments!
